Living the Ocean Edge Life
Prospective Ocean Edge owners ask me what it’s really like to spend time on the resort. They’re curious about the lifestyle, the experience of owning a home here. Even when they have only been on-site a few hours, they sense that this place is somehow different, unique.
I know what they are feeling. Nineteen years ago I drove onto Ocean Edge for the first time. Only half of the condos had been built. The grounds, littered with lumber and building supplies, hardly resembled a resort. Even then, I was enthralled and knew this was going to be a very special place. There was a feeling of magic.
I believe the magic begins when you pass the gatehouse. You wave at the guard, lurch over a speed bump and bingo, you’re in a different world. It’s just as amazing as that part of the Wizard of Oz when the movie goes from black and white to color. Birds sing, the sky seems bluer and you’ve entered a different world.
The resort is a self-contained haven. The problems of life are “out there” while being “in here” means fun and relaxation - a brief respite from the rest of your life.. People here seem happy, light hearted. They smile.
They are out playing golf or tennis, reading by the pool, biking the rail trail or enjoying a tall cool one on the patio. They have plenty of time to kick back because their second home doesn’t come with a second set of problems. Someone else cuts the lawn and paints the shutters.
When you own a home on the resort you finally figure out that living the lifestyle of Ocean Edge is the magic. The magic that comes from fresh air, exercise, laughter, cook- outs with the family and time to unwind. Only good things happen here.
